（柔佛‧麻坡）文打烟州议员魏宗贤促正视麻县一些国中因学生人数不足而陆续关闭预备班，导致另一些国中预备班的学生人数，竟然出现一班高达58人的现象。
他说，麻坡仲尼国中和马哈拉尼国中的预备班已经於今年关闭，造成敦霹雳国中的预备班，一班就有58名学生。
他担心若预备班关闭现象加剧，麻县一些无法直升中一的华裔子弟，该何去何从？
週六（2月20日）下午峇吉里和麻坡民联国州议员举办新春门户开放日，魏氏在这项活动上发言。
他强调，国中预备班是要让马来文根基不强的华裔子弟，在一年的时间內打好马来文基础。
“如果预备班陆续关闭，学生的选择就会越来越少，甚至会因此而輟学。而那些一班学生人数达58人的国中预备班，其实已经远超每班平均25名学生的標准。”
他表示会在下一次的柔州议会上把这个问题提出来討论。
