Press Statement for imidiate release

The message of Ministry of Internal Affair arrested 3 public members under Internal Security Act (ISA), namely, RPK, Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng and Selangor MP Terrisa Kok has reached me with shocked, disturbed and highly depressed. The authority has failed to diagnose the strong message from the general public through her defeat in last General Election as well as Pematang Pauh by-election; instead, the authority resort to despise action against our good citizen who choose to defend the free speech and upright of mankind honesty.

Blogger, RPK has since 2006 contributed unlimited publications in “Today Malaysia” to keep public informed of happening in my beloved country. If the blog caused unnecessary disturbance to our society; it will have no comparison if made to the uproar that caused by Ahmad in mere 14 days time frame that involved political parties themselves.

If reporting by Ms Tan was bias or miss interpretation of the fact, how can it initiated a public apologies made by Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister themselves? If RPK publication on Religion can cause public disturbance and Ms Tan reporting created unnecessary racial tension, on what ground YB Kok to be arrested? The arrest conducted by police without prove of evidence is a complete disregard of our law of constituent. It is a humiliation to our democracy system.

Chor Chee Heung been the minister of home affair, should understand the basis of "Internal Security Act"; and the consequences in the use of ISA against our political members, and newsman. Be a minister, if he was not informed of the arrest of people under ISA; that is a prove of his inability to exercise his rights and ensuring a good running order of his ministry; he should then resigned from this appointment instead of making public apologies.

I would request Prime Minister and Ministry of home Affair to release all detainees under ISA. A good government should resolve issues, based on public judiciary procedure with evidence and proof, instead of “Prove of Innocent after Arrest” approach. In the meantime, I would request all parties and public to stay calm, and do not resort to unwise action with public gathering, demonstration and protest. We would hope to resort the current standing through peace and civilized approach, through exertion of necessary pressure to the government, to ensure the public interest is protected by a good and transparent judiciary system.
